Diyala: A security source reported the detention of three officers and three members of the Diyala police force following the escape of a prisoner from a holding cell at the Criminal Investigation Directorate within the command headquarters.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the escaped prisoner is suspected of having HIV and had been isolated in a special room to prevent the spread of infection to other prisoners. The room was not properly sealed, allowing the prisoner to escape through a ventilation opening.
The source added that the escaped prisoner is accused of murdering members of his family three years ago. Search and sweep operations are ongoing, especially in areas near the police headquarters.
