Amarah: A demonstration was held in Amarah, the capital of Maysan Governorate, by a number of citizens and shop owners protesting the imposition of taxes, fees, and customs tariffs. They demanded that the relevant authorities reconsider these measures due to their direct impact on living conditions and the economy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstrators emphasized their rejection of the recent increases, stating that these decisions have burdened both citizens and merchants, contributing to the rise in prices of goods and services, which has negatively affected market activity and purchasing power.

The demonstrators called on the local government and relevant authorities to intervene urgently to address this issue and find solutions that alleviate the burdens on citizens, achieving a balance between supporting government revenues and maintaining economic and social stability.
