Iranian Army Declares Readiness for Prolonged Conflict Amid US-Iran Negotiation Talks

Tehran: Iran affirmed its readiness for all scenarios, as a new round of US-Iranian negotiations is anticipated, despite the positive atmosphere. Iranian Chief of Staff, Abdolrahim Mousavi, stated at a forum in Tehran today, Sunday: “We are prepared for a long-term war with the United States.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mousavi added: “However, despite our readiness, we do not wish to ignite a regional war… such a war would delay the region’s progress and development for years.” He also emphasized that “the consequences of any regional war in the region will fall on the shoulders of Washington and Tel Aviv.”

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, in a press conference held after his speech at the forum, expressed his doubts about the seriousness of the United States in conducting genuine negotiations.
