Speaker of Parliament Urges Prime Minister to Delay New Customs Tariff for 90 Days


Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, has officially requested Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to delay and suspend the implementation of the new customs tariff for a period of 90 days. This request aims at allowing a comprehensive review of the tariff.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi communicated his concerns through an official letter addressed to the Prime Minister. The letter emphasizes the need for a thorough examination of the new customs tariff’s implications before it is rolled out.
