Baghdad: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad al-Atroushi has underscored the importance of fostering a culture that embraces national, religious, and sectarian diversity to promote peaceful coexistence within society.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Atroushi, in a statement, emphasized the significance of this initiative as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week celebrated in February. He called for strengthening peaceful coexistence and supporting state institutions to collaborate with civil society organizations. The goal is to establish peace and dialogue among various religions, sects, and schools of thought. Al-Atroushi stressed the importance of respecting beliefs, protecting human rights, and preserving the constitutional rights of all components of the Iraqi people.
