Nineveh Begins Procedures to Reopen Rabia Border Crossing After 13 Years of Closure


Nineveh: Nineveh Governorate has begun procedures to reopen the Rabia border crossing with Syria after more than 13 years of closure, as part of a plan to reactivate border crossings and boost economic activity.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil stated that “the procedures included completing the technical and logistical requirements in coordination with the Border Ports Authority, and with the participation of representatives from the governorate’s engineering, design, and general planning departments, to ensure the crossing’s readiness and its role in supporting the local economy and directly and indirectly boosting the governorate’s revenues.”
