Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that his country “does not intend to attack any European country,” clarifying that the military operation in Ukraine is a “special operation” and not a war with the European continent. However, he warned that Russia would launch a full-scale military response “with all available means” if it were attacked from Europe.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lavrov added: “If Europe suddenly carries out its threats to prepare for war against us and begins attacking the Russian Federation, our response will be a comprehensive military response with all available means.” Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously stated that his country does not seek war with European countries, but he emphasized that Russia is prepared to fight if Europe chooses escalation.
This statement comes at a time when tensions between Russia and the West have continued since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
