Baghdad: Gold prices, both foreign and local, recorded an increase on Monday in the local markets of Baghdad and Erbil.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in Baghdad’s wholesale markets on Al-Nahr Street, the selling price of one mithqal of 21-karat Gulf, Turkish, and European gold reached IQD 1.059 million, while the buying price stood at IQD 1.055 million, compared to a selling price of IQD 1.044 million on Sunday.
The selling price of one mithqal of 21-karat Iraqi gold was recorded at IQD 1.029 million, with a buying price of IQD 1.025 million.
In retail jewelry shops, the selling price of 21-karat Gulf gold ranged between IQD 1.060 million and IQD 1.070 million per mithqal, while Iraqi gold ranged between IQD 1.030 million and IQD 1.040 million.
In Erbil, the selling price of gold reached approximately IQD 1.160 million per mithqal for 22-karat gold, IQD 1.105 million for 21-karat gold, and about IQD 949,000 for 18-karat gold.
