Amman: Minister of Justice Khalid Shawani met with the Georgian Ambassador to Amman, Archil Dzuliashvili, to discuss the final stages of signing a memorandum of understanding on prisoner transfer between the two countries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Justice indicated that the meeting took place at the ministry headquarters. The discussions centered on finalizing the memorandum of understanding on prisoner transfer, which is based on the Riyadh Agreement and the Arab Agreement on the Transfer of Prisoners.
The Minister highlighted that Baghdad is open to friendly countries and is eager to enhance joint cooperation by signing memoranda of understanding in judicial and legal fields. This initiative aims to support bilateral relations and facilitate the exchange of expertise.
Meanwhile, the Georgian Ambassador emphasized his country’s commitment to strengthening relations with Iraq across various fields, aligning with the common interests of both nations.
