Baghdad: Sheikh Khamis Al-Khanjar, leader of the Sovereignty Alliance, received the German Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Kreber, and his accompanying delegation at his office in Baghdad. A statement by the Sovereignty Alliance media office indicated that the meeting addressed the progress Iraq has made in security and stability, and ways to strengthen relations between the two friendly nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Al-Khanjar praised the role played by the European Union in Iraq, particularly in the areas of combating terrorism, security cooperation, economic cooperation, and scientific cooperation. He emphasized the strength of the relationship and the importance of its continuation and development to serve mutual interests.

For his part, Ambassador Kreber commended Sheikh Al-Khanjar’s efforts in supporting political and social stability and promoting national dialogue. He affirmed his country’s commitment to continuing its support for Iraq in the areas of security and development, and to strengthening joint cooperation with various Iraqi national forces.
