Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied on Thursday the sale of a building belonging to the Iraqi Embassy in Seoul to a Korean artist.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry issued a statement addressing reports circulating in some media outlets about the alleged sale. The statement clarified that “the Republic of Iraq does not own any embassy building or residence in the Republic of Korea.” It further explained that the embassy operates from premises occupied under valid lease agreements approved by the host country, similar to many other diplomatic missions, and adheres to established administrative and organizational procedures in diplomatic work.
The Ministry emphasized that the claims regarding the sale of a building owned by the Iraqi state are baseless and unfounded. It urged media outlets to exercise accuracy and rely on official sources when publishing news related to state institutions to avoid disseminating false information.
