Munich: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah affirmed, on the sidelines of their participation in the Munich Security Conference, the strength of the historical ties that bind the two countries and their shared commitment to developing cooperation in various fields.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Hussein reviewed the political developments in Iraq and the progress of forming the new government, praising Kuwait’s supportive stance towards the democratic process and emphasizing the importance of strengthening the bilateral partnership to achieve the interests of both brotherly nations.
The meeting also addressed the latest security and political developments in the region, with both sides stressing the need to intensify efforts aimed at consolidating stability and reducing tensions, thereby contributing to supporting regional security and enhancing opportunities for de-escalation.
The two ministers discussed developments in the negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing their appreciation for the role played by the Sultanate of Oman in facilitating dialogue and bridging differences, in support of understanding and stability in the region.
