Iranian Border Guards Foil Arms Smuggling Operation Into Country

Tehran: The Iranian border guards announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle a shipment of weapons into the country and the arrest of those involved.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Border Guard Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi said, “The border guards seized a shipment of weapons and equipment in a vehicle on the border of Sistan and Baluchestan province.” He added, “The seized weapons included 11 pistols, two hunting rifles, 10 RPG-7 (anti-personnel) rounds, and 549 rounds of ammunition.”

On the 13th of last month, the commander of the Iranian border guard forces announced the seizure of 27 military and hunting weapons in Sistan and Baluchestan province in the southeast of the country.
