Nizar Amidi Elected the Iraqi President of the Republic


Baghdad: The Iraqi Parliament voted on Saturday to elect Nizar Mohammed Saeed Amidi as President of the Republic of Iraq.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Parliament’s Media Office confirmed in a statement that Nizar Amidi secured the position with 227 votes. The statement highlighted that the other candidate, MP Muthanna Amin Nader, received 15 votes, while seven ballots were deemed invalid.
