Baghdad: The Iraqi Drilling Company announced on Wednesday the completion of drilling and rehabilitating 69 oil wells during the first half of this year.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the company stated that under the directives of the Minister of Oil, Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, and supervision of Director General Mohammed Hantoush Asad Al-Azirjawi, the technical and engineering staff successfully drilled and rehabilitated 69 oil wells in the first half of 2026. This achievement includes 12 newly drilled wells and 57 rehabilitated ones, aligning with the company’s operational plans to support the Ministry of Oil’s efforts to boost national production.

The Director General highlighted that these accomplishments underscore the competence of the national staff and the expertise within the Iraqi Drilling Company. He emphasized that the company remains committed to executing its projects according to the highest technical and operational standards, ensuring high efficiency and quality in its work.

The company further noted that it is actively working to enhance its operational capabilities, improve the readiness of drilling and reclamation equipment, and develop its technical expertise. These efforts aim to meet the demands of the oil sector and expand project implementation, consistent with the Ministry of Oil’s objectives to increase production and strengthen reliance on national resources.
