Baghdad: Police units from the Al-Dora Police Station, part of the Baghdad Al-Karkh Police Command, arrested a suspect who attempted to rob a gold jewelry store within their jurisdiction. The suspect assaulted the store owner with a knife, inflicting several stab wounds.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the operation followed a report of the incident. Security units responded to the scene, apprehended the suspect, and seized the knife used in the crime.
The statement continued, "Initial investigations revealed that the suspect attempted to steal gold jewelry. When the store owner resisted, the suspect attacked him with a knife, causing several stab wounds to the neck and hand." The statement added, "Legal measures have been taken against the suspect, and he has been referred to the relevant authorities. During the investigation, he confessed to assaulting the store owner with the intent to steal the gold jewelry."
