Head of Iraqi Artists Syndicate Attends Cultural Evening in Erbil

Erbil: The head of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, Dr. Jabbar Jawdi, Director General of the Cinema and Theater Department, was a distinguished guest at an artistic and cultural dialogue evening hosted by the Social Academic Center in Erbil. The event attracted a select group of artists, academics, intellectuals, and individuals interested in cultural and artistic affairs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the evening, titled "The Role of Art in Building and Developing Society," featured Dr. Jawdi discussing the critical role of the arts in promoting awareness, national identity, and a culture of dialogue and tolerance. He highlighted that investment in culture and the arts is a fundamental pillar of societal and human development.

The event included a tribute to Dr. Jawdi for his significant contributions to the arts. An open dialogue session also took place, where attendees engaged with Dr. Jawdi on the challenges facing Iraq's artistic and cultural movement. Discussions focused on supporting creative individuals and building effective partnerships between cultural and academic institutions to enhance the Iraqi cultural landscape.

The session was moderated by psychologist Rafiq Hanna, who underscored the importance of engaging with influential cultural and artistic figures to enrich societal dialogue and exchange experiences for cultural development in Iraq.
