Najaf Preacher Endorses Anti-Corruption Efforts as Key Progress

Najaf: The Friday prayer leader of Najaf, Sadr al-Din al-Qubanchi, expressed strong support for the Dawn Campaign, which focuses on uncovering and addressing corruption cases and arresting those responsible. He described these actions as a crucial step forward.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Qubanchi emphasized the public’s anticipation for further developments in three key areas: continued investigation of unresolved cases, a decisive response from the judiciary, and the utilization of recovered funds for social projects. He highlighted the importance of using the reclaimed resources to aid the impoverished, build hospitals and schools, and complete vital infrastructure projects.

In a separate statement, al-Qubanchi addressed the global significance of the funeral of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, describing it as a profound event. He acknowledged Khamenei’s role in leading the Islamic Revolution for 37 years and his martyrdom alongside his family. Al-Qubanchi underscored Iraq’s solidarity with Iran, emphasizing shared struggles and tragedies.

On international issues, al-Qubanchi urged the protection of Shiite communities in Syria, citing reports of sectarian violence with alleged involvement of the ruling regime. He called for increased efforts to ensure their safety amidst ongoing conflicts.
