Baghdad: The Ministry of Culture participated in a government meeting focused on developing mechanisms to empower women and enhance their leadership roles. The meeting aimed to align women’s affairs units with the government program by supporting women’s participation in leadership and decision-making positions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities was represented by its director, Hind Mahmoud Shbeeb. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers and included directors of women’s affairs departments from all ministries. Discussions centered on improving the work of women’s affairs units and enhancing their role within government institutions.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination among government entities, developing executive action plans, and establishing effective performance indicators. They also highlighted the need for continued capacity building and addressing challenges faced by women’s affairs units to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
