Najaf: Around 4,300 Iraqi and foreign journalists participated in covering the funeral ceremonies for the late Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the official spokesperson for the Supreme Committee overseeing the funeral arrangements, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, said on Wednesday.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Maan stated that the live broadcast of the funeral ceremonies commenced at 5:00 a.m. and continues to be aired. All Iraqi satellite television channels have been carrying the event live, with some maintaining uninterrupted coverage since the start of the ceremonies.

Maan highlighted the extensive international media presence, noting that nearly 1,000 non-Iraqi journalists received accreditation to cover the proceedings. In addition, approximately 3,300 Iraqi journalists have been involved in the coverage across the provinces of Najaf and Karbala. These journalists represent a range of media including television channels, news agencies, radio stations, newspapers, and digital media platforms.

He further mentioned that around 20 satellite news gathering (SNG) vehicles were deployed in Najaf to facilitate the coverage. These vehicles have been providing free clean-feed broadcast services and transmission support for various media organizations.
