Iraqi Bar Association Hosts Dialogue Meeting to Discuss Lawyers’ Law Amendment

Baghdad: The Iraqi Bar Association convened a dialogue meeting aimed at reviewing and discussing the draft amendment to the Lawyers' Law. This initiative was part of an invitation extended to all members of the General Assembly by the association.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the head of the Iraqi Bar Association, lawyer Ahlam al-Lami, expressed her satisfaction with the active participation and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the lawyers towards their profession. She described the meeting as an invaluable opportunity to gain insights from the lawyers' diverse perspectives and observations, which would be examined realistically and objectively.

The meeting featured a comprehensive reading of the proposed amendment texts. Following this, the lawyers actively engaged in presenting their views and discussing various proposals. The meeting's rapporteur meticulously recorded all observations, which will be compiled into a detailed report. This report is intended for submission to the Iraqi Parliament, where it will undergo consideration in subsequent legislative stages and procedures.
