Diwaniyah: The Diwaniyah Provincial Council has called on the Ministry of Water Resources to increase its water allocation to bolster the summer agricultural season, particularly focusing on the rice cultivation plan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, council member Tariq al-Barqawi disclosed that a meeting was convened between the Provincial Council and the Ministry of Water Resources to discuss the possibility of increasing water releases to the province. Al-Barqawi stated that the local government is hopeful for a successful season, aiming to cultivate over 125,000 dunams of rice in the province.
