Iraqi Hockey Federation President Secures Seat on Arab Federation Executive Committee

Muscat: The president of the Iraqi Hockey Federation, Khalil Yassin, has won a seat on the Executive Committee of the Arab Hockey Federation, as announced by the Iraqi National Olympic Committee. This significant development was revealed following the elections held on Saturday in Muscat, coinciding with the Federation's General Assembly meeting.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Khalil Yassin's successful bid for the executive position marks a notable moment for Iraqi sports. The committee's press release highlighted that the elections were conducted under the oversight of Tayeb Ikram, President of the International Hockey Federation. The elections also saw Marwan Jumaa from the Sultanate of Oman elected as President of the Arab Hockey Federation.

Yassin expressed that his election to the Executive Committee is a milestone for Iraqi sports, enhancing Iraq's representation in Arab sports forums. He emphasized that the forthcoming period will focus on efforts to support and develop hockey, fostering cooperation with Arab federations to elevate the game's standards and benefit both Iraqi and Arab sports.
