Spain Secures Spot in World Cup Semi-Finals with Victory Over Belgium

Spain: Spain qualified for the World Cup semi-finals after defeating Belgium 2-1 in their quarter-final match at Los Angeles Stadium in the United States.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring for Spain in the 30th minute, before Charles De Ketelaere equalized for Belgium in the 41st minute, ending the first half 1-1. As the match seemed destined for extra time, Mikel Merino scored the winning goal for Spain in the 88th minute, securing his country's place in the semi-finals.

Spain entered the match with an impressive defensive record, having not conceded a goal since the start of the tournament, before Belgium managed to break through their defense. Spain had reached the quarter-finals by defeating Portugal 1-0, while Belgium qualified after a 4-1 victory over the United States.

With this victory, the Spanish national team secures a semi-final berth against France, scheduled for July 14th at Dallas Stadium, in a battle for one of the two qualifying spots for the 2026 World Cup final.
