Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, has reiterated that caring for orphaned children stands as both a national and humanitarian priority. President Amidi emphasized the importance of safeguarding Iraq's children to ensure a stable future for the nation, highlighting the essential role of legal and humanitarian guarantees in this endeavor.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency released a statement following President Amidi's visit to the Iraqi House for Creativity Foundation. This institution is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of orphaned and abused children. During the visit, the President was welcomed by the Foundation's Director, Hisham Al-Dhahabi, who provided an overview of the Foundation's key programs and activities in the realm of child welfare.
President Amidi underscored the critical connection between a secure Iraq and the protection of its youth, noting that the care for orphaned children is a societal responsibility shared by state institutions and the broader community. He articulated that safeguarding children's rights and ensuring a safe environment for their growth is both a constitutional and moral obligation.
The President called for the enhancement of social, psychological, and educational care programs to ensure that children are raised with dignity and given equal opportunities for growth and a decent life. He also stressed the need for swift legislative action to provide legal protections for orphaned children against any form of abuse.
The statement also highlighted Director Hisham Al-Dhahabi's discussion on the Foundation's initiatives to protect children in Iraq, its efforts to nurture children's talents, empower them, and integrate them effectively into society.
