Karbala: The holy shrines of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas organized a memorial service on the fortieth day after the death of Grand Ayatollah Fayyad, in the Hall of the Seal of the Prophets within the Imam Hussein Shrine's courtyard. This service was held in collaboration with a number of former political prisoners to honor the late religious leader.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the memorial service highlighted the scholarly contributions and the hardships faced by Grand Ayatollah Fayyad during his imprisonment under the former regime. His unwavering commitment to religious duties and Husseini rituals was a focal point of the gathering.
Sheikh Haider Moussa Al-Amili, a student of the Grand Ayatollah, delivered a speech reflecting on the significance of scholars in preserving Husseini rituals and the impact of the Karbala tragedy on the thoughts of Sayyid Al-Hakim. The event organizers stressed the importance of inspiring future generations to delve into the life and teachings of Grand Ayatollah Fayyad, while also shedding light on the scholarly significance of the Najaf seminary.
