Turkish Foreign Minister to Attend Coalition of the Willing Summit on Ukraine in Paris

Paris: The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, is set to travel to Paris on Monday to participate in the "Coalition of the Willing" summit focused on Ukraine. This gathering aims to address diplomatic and strategic initiatives concerning the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the summit, Fidan will engage in discussions with global counterparts on decisions from the recent NATO summit in Ankara, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended. Fidan is anticipated to restate Turkey's commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity while sharing insights on the current situation on the battlefronts and the progression of diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.

Fidan will also stress Turkey's willingness to host further negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian delegations and underscore the significance of maintaining peace and stability in the Black Sea region. Furthermore, he will highlight Turkey's readiness to support efforts aimed at achieving these objectives.

The summit of the "Coalition of the Willing," initially proposed by the United Kingdom and France during a summit in London in March 2025, includes over 30 members, primarily from Europe. Turkey has been an active participant in the coalition since its inception and is poised to lead maritime-related activities in the future, contingent on the finalization of necessary legal and political frameworks.

Fidan previously represented Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a Coalition of the Willing summit in Paris on January 6, 2026.
