Doha: Qatar's former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 74, as announced by the country's Amiri Diwan.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Amiri Diwan released a statement on the US social media platform X, confirming the former Emir's death. The statement included a prayer, saying, "May God grant him His mercy and forgiveness."
