Al-Zaydi Hosts State Administration Coalition Meeting at Government Palace


Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi hosted a meeting of the State Administration Coalition at the Government Palace on Sunday. The meeting was attended by President Nizar Amidi, Speaker of Parliament Hebat Hamad al-Halbousi, Chief Justice Faeq Zaidan, and President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Nechirvan Barzani.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the attendees were briefed on the arrangements and objectives of the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to the United States. They also discussed ways to leverage the expected outcomes of the visit to serve Iraq’s interests and strengthen its international relations.



The attendees affirmed their full support for the anti-corruption efforts initiated by the government and the judiciary, emphasizing the need for the campaign to continue in accordance with the law and free from any political bias or selectivity. They also stressed the importance of proceeding with the process of restricting weapons to the state, strengthening the rule of law, and consolidating the authority and sovereignty of constitutional state institutions.



The coalition offered its sincere condolences to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, and to the brotherly Qatari people, on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, praying to God Almighty to grant him His abundant mercy.



The State Administration Coalition called for prioritizing dialogue and understanding, rejecting wars and escalation in regional issues, and adopting peaceful means to achieve security and stability, safeguard the interests of the peoples of the region, and affirmed Iraq’s readiness to be a hub for converging and developing interests.
