Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received U.S. Special Presidential Envoy to Iraq Tom Barrack yesterday evening, Monday, Baghdad time, at his residence in Washington, D.C.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting discussed prospects for cooperation between Iraq and the United States. The Media Office of the Prime Minister reported that the talks involved reviewing the course of economic relations between the two countries, noting the progress achieved in recent months and exploring ways to expand areas of cooperation and partnership.
The statement further indicated that the meeting addressed developments in the region and emphasized the importance of supporting efforts to strengthen security and stability and reduce tensions. It highlighted the pivotal role Iraq can play in promoting regional rapprochement and contributing to de-escalation.
