Emirati Aid Convoy to Lebanon Transits Through Iraq

Basra: Customs authorities have initiated procedures for the passage of the second batch of Emirati humanitarian aid convoy to the Lebanese Republic via Iraqi territory. The General Authority of Customs, operating at the main reception area of Umm Qasr Port, has begun the necessary procedures for the transit of the aid provided by the United Arab Emirates to Lebanon. This process is being conducted under the transit system, following the completion of all legal and customs requirements in coordination with relevant government agencies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated that the procedures were carried out in accordance with applicable customs regulations and instructions. This ensures the smooth flow of the convoy and the swift completion of its paperwork, in line with the provisions of the approved transit system, which permits goods to pass through Iraqi territory to their final destination.

The statement further elaborated that this step is part of Iraq's commitment to supporting humanitarian and relief efforts. It underscores Iraq's dedication to providing the necessary facilities for the passage of aid to brotherly countries, thereby highlighting Iraq's humanitarian role and bolstering its position as a safe and effective regional corridor for international transit.
