Baghdad: Minister of Transport Wahab al-Hassani met with EU Ambassador Clemens Simetner and Director of Cooperation and Projects, Wim Rimba, to discuss lifting the European ban on Iraqi Airways. An agreement was reached to hold a technical meeting between Iraqi and European officials to outline the requirements necessary for removing the ban.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister of Transport highlighted the significance of addressing the ban as it plays a crucial role in enhancing integration and cooperation between Iraq and the European Union. This includes the strategic development route that aims to facilitate trade and other activities between the East and Europe through Iraq.

EU Ambassador Clemens Simetner expressed appreciation for the Minister's dedication to resolving the ban issue and acknowledged Iraq's efforts to bolster cooperative relations with the European Union. He also reiterated the EU's commitment to fostering sustainable cooperation with Iraq.
