General Secretariat Excludes Contract Employees from Postgraduate Studies

Baghdad: Official document confirms that the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has decided to exclude all contract employees from postgraduate studies. The decision also includes not granting them study leave or a letter of no conflict of interest during their employment.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision impacts contract employees who are pursuing or planning to pursue postgraduate education. The exclusion means that these employees will not be able to obtain the necessary permissions typically required to balance their work and academic commitments.

The move by the General Secretariat aims to establish clear boundaries between employment obligations and academic pursuits for contract employees. The decision may have significant implications for those contract employees who were relying on support from their employers to further their education while continuing their professional duties.
