Iraq’s Commitment to Regional Peace: Joint Operations Command Asserts Non-Aggression Stance

Baghdad: The Joint Operations Command has reiterated Iraq's commitment to regional peace and stability, declaring that the country will not serve as a launching pad for attacks against neighboring or other countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this declaration was made in a statement following a high-level security meeting at the Joint Operations Command headquarters. The session was attended by key military and security figures, including the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi. The meeting also included the head of the Counter-Terrorism Service and various commanders from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, who participated via closed-circuit television.

During the meeting, attendees focused on strategies to uphold security achievements, manage sector control, secure vital targets and international borders, and protect diplomatic missions. The Joint Operations Command emphasized the importance of respecting Iraq's sovereignty and stability, alongside a firm approach toward any attempts to disrupt internal security or harm Iraq's relations with its neighbors and the broader region.
