Baghdad: The Ministry of Oil confirmed on Thursday that oil loading operations at southern ports are continuing without interruption.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Oil Ministry spokesman Salim al-Rikabi addressed circulating reports on social media and television channels that claimed a suspension of Iraqi oil loading operations due to a drone strike on an oil tanker. Al-Rikabi refuted these reports, stating they are false.
He emphasized that oil loading operations at southern ports remain unaffected, ensuring that the flow of oil continues smoothly. He further mentioned that the State Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) is investigating the incident involving a foreign object striking one of the tankers. The Ministry assures that the results of this investigation will be made public once concluded.
