Hillah: Two people died Thursday evening in a hit-and-run accident in central Hillah, the capital of Babil Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Zaher Mohammed, Director of Media for the Babil Traffic Police, stated that a speeding car struck two individuals who were on the edge of the sidewalk on 100th Street in central Hillah, resulting in their immediate deaths.

He further added that the police transported the bodies to the forensic medicine department and subsequently arrested the driver of the vehicle.
