Eight Pilgrims Killed in Traffic Accident North of Basra

Basra: Eight visitors died and nine others were injured in a traffic accident north of Basra.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the incident took place in the Al-Haritha district, north of Basra Governorate, early this morning. A GMC vehicle collided with a group of pilgrims who were walking along the pedestrian route in the Al-Murtada neighborhood.

Eight people lost their lives at the scene, while 12 others sustained injuries. The injured and the bodies of the deceased were taken to Al-Fayhaa Hospital. Medical teams at the hospital provided first aid and necessary treatment to those injured in the accident. Authorities have initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
