Anbar: The Ministry of Agriculture, through its Department of Agricultural Extension and Training, has engaged in discussions with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to explore the implementation of a hydroponic farming project in Anbar Governorate. This initiative is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance climate change adaptation and support sustainable agricultural development.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Director General of the Department, Engineer Munir Ali Kreidi, highlighted the significance of expanding collaboration with international organizations. He noted the potential of such partnerships to implement high-quality projects that build the capacities of agricultural extension agents and empower farmers, particularly in areas severely affected by climate change. Kreidi affirmed the Department's commitment to providing the necessary support to ensure the project's success and the attainment of its goals.
Representatives from IOM presented the project's components, objectives, and target groups during the meeting. They emphasized the project's focus on promoting hydroponic farming techniques and enhancing the efficiency of beneficiaries. This approach aims to contribute to improved food security and foster a positive developmental impact within local communities in Anbar Governorate.
