Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi congratulated the Mandaean Sabeans in Iraq and around the world on Thursday on the occasion of "Eid al-Brunaya." In a post on the X platform, he said: "On the occasion of Eid al-Brunaya, I extend my sincerest congratulations and best wishes to our people, the Mandaean Sabeans in Iraq and around the world, asking God Almighty to bring it back to them with goodness, peace, and tranquility."
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zaidi emphasized the integral role of the Mandaean Sabeans in Iraq's cultural fabric. He noted their historical contributions to the nation's scientific, cultural, and humanitarian advancements. Al-Zaidi affirmed that Iraq remains a homeland that embraces all its citizens based on principles of citizenship, justice, and mutual respect.
He continued by reiterating the government's commitment to safeguarding Iraq's diversity, preserving the rights of all its communities, and promoting the values of peaceful coexistence, which are seen as a source of strength for the nation.
