Parliamentary Finance Committee Invites Real Estate Director General for Land Sale Law Discussion


Baghdad: The Parliamentary Finance Committee has extended an invitation to the Director General of the State Real Estate Department to discuss the proposed law concerning the regulation of the sale of the state’s share of land. This meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the committee’s headquarters, under the leadership of MP Uday Awad Al-Hussein.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the session is set to evaluate the proposed legislation that aims to manage the sale of state-owned land to individuals holding usufruct rights. This initiative is rooted in the Council of Representatives’ internal regulations, demonstrating the committee’s dedication to a comprehensive review of the draft law from legal, financial, and administrative angles.



The Finance Committee underlined the importance of the hearing in obtaining insights from the State Real Estate Department. The discussions will focus on technical and legal aspects of the proposed law. The ultimate objective is to formulate balanced legislation that serves the public interest while safeguarding the rights of both the state and its citizens.
