Baghdad: The Foreign Minister praised the French Ambassador’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations. Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein praised the active diplomatic role of the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, stressing that his efforts have significantly contributed to strengthening and developing Iraqi-French relations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Hussein met with the French Ambassador to Iraq, and during the meeting, he commended the efforts he has made throughout his tenure in Iraq, which have contributed to strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Baghdad and Paris in various fields.”

The statement added: “The Foreign Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Durel for his efforts in developing bilateral relations, wishing him success in his future duties as the French Ambassador to Lebanon.”

It noted that “the French Ambassador, for his part, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Foreign Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the cooperation and support he received during his time in Iraq, emphasizing his pride in the progress achieved in Iraqi-French relations and the continued work to strengthen and develop them.”
