Istanbul: The president of Turkish club Besiktas, Serdar Adali, has revealed the latest developments in the club’s pursuit of Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah, confirming that the decision to sign him now rests with the player himself.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a press statement, Adali stated, “As reported in the media, we have been continuing negotiations with the player and his representative regarding all the details of the transfer. After discussing the demands we received from all sides, we officially submitted our final offer to the player and informed them that we are awaiting their decision shortly.”

He further explained, “While our activity in the transfer market continues, this is the latest development regarding Salah since the beginning of negotiations. We studied all the demands related to increases and modifications in accordance with Besiktas’ interests, and we submitted our final offer. Now it is the player’s turn to make his decision, and we await his response as soon as possible.”

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu had previously announced that Salah’s agent had lowered his initial demands, which amounted to £7.5 million in commission, and was now closer to the figure proposed by the Besiktas president. This development has increased the chances of reaching a final agreement.

Reports indicate that Mohamed Salah has already agreed to Besiktas’ financial offer, which includes a guaranteed annual salary of £12 million and a two-year contract. However, neither party has announced a formal agreement, as some final details are still being worked out.
