Jerusalem: The Israeli air force announced on Tuesday morning that it successfully intercepted a drone near its border with Jordan. The military operation, however, left unanswered questions about the origin of the unmanned aerial vehicle.

According to Deutsche Welle, the Israeli air force confirmed that the drone did not breach Israeli airspace. This interception follows the incidents on Monday where two additional drones were intercepted near the same border, with their origins still unidentified.

Jordan’s strategic geographical position, sharing borders with Israel, the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, plays a significant role amid ongoing regional tensions. It is noteworthy that the United States maintains a military presence at Jordanian air force bases.

Despite Israel’s participation in the initial offensive against Iran in February, it has abstained from engaging in the latest strikes, further complicating the regional dynamics.
