Baghdad: An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale struck approximately 30 kilometers east of Kirkuk Governorate. The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring reported the occurrence of this light earthquake, which was clearly felt by residents in areas near its epicenter.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority confirmed in a statement that while the tremor was significant enough to be felt, it did not result in any immediate reports of damage. The Authority emphasized its commitment to keeping the public informed of any new developments related to seismic activity that may arise.

The Authority also advised citizens not to be misled by false news and rumors, and to adhere strictly to the earthquake safety guidelines and instructions issued by relevant authorities.
