Baghdad: To enhance oversight of the labor market and improve institutional performance, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor directs the intensification of inspection campaigns and the updating of employer databases. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs for Labor Affairs, Khalid Amjad Al-Saigh, directed the intensification of field inspection campaigns during evening hours and the updating of the electronic databases for employers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a press release that Al-Saigh visited the Department of Labor and Vocational Training, including the Inspection Section, to review workflow, monitor the performance of inspection staff, and assess the level of implementation of their assigned tasks.

Al-Saigh emphasized that expanding the scope of inspection campaigns to include evening hours is a crucial step in strengthening oversight of the work environment, identifying violations, and ensuring employers' compliance with the provisions of the Labor Law, thereby contributing to the protection of workers' rights and the regulation of the labor market.

He also directed a comprehensive update of the electronic databases, including the addition of detailed information about employers to the approved system. This will provide an accurate and up-to-date database that supports inspection operations, enhances monitoring and decision-making efficiency, and aligns with the Ministry's digital transformation and institutional performance development initiatives.

During the visit, the Undersecretary listened to the observations and needs of the visitors, emphasizing the importance of simplifying procedures and expediting transactions, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
