IFA Holds Refereeing Lecture for Iraqi U-20 National Team Ahead of Asian Qualifiers

Baghdad: The Iraqi Football Association (IFA), in collaboration with the Referees Committee, organized a refereeing lecture for the Iraqi U-20 national team on Saturday. This initiative is part of the team's preparation for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers set to take place in Thailand.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the IFA stated that the lecture aims to enhance the understanding of the Laws of the Game and improve awareness of refereeing situations among players and coaching staff. Alaa Abdul Qader delivered the lecture, focusing on key amendments and scenarios such as substitutions, injuries, handball, tackles, and challenges. It also covered situations involving interference with the ball, promising opportunities, clear-cut chances, and instances where an opponent is denied a clear scoring chance.

The lecture provided explanations and clarifications of practical scenarios and correct refereeing decisions, which are expected to better equip the Iraqi youth national team players for the upcoming Asian tournament.
