Baghdad: Finance Minister Faleh Sari told Central Bank Governor Nizar Nasser Hussein on Sunday that current conditions require continued coordination between fiscal and monetary policy. According to Iraqi News Agency, a Finance Ministry statement highlighted that Finance Minister Faleh Sari met with Central Bank Governor Nizar Nasser Hussein to deliberate on the financial and economic situation in light of ongoing challenges. The discussions underscored the necessity for continuous coordination between fiscal and monetary policies to manage financial flows effectively and ensure that the state meets its obligations while pursuing financial system reforms and enhancing public finance management tools. The Finance Minister emphasized the need to strengthen data exchange between the Finance Ministry and the central bank. He also called for an acceleration of digital transformation to boost the efficiency of financial institutions and enhance their capacity to adapt to economic changes. Central Bank Governor Hussein reiterated the central bank's commitment to supporting monetary stability and developing the banking sector to meet the national economy's needs. He highlighted the importance of collaborating with the Finance Ministry on economic and financial issues. Both parties agreed to continue their joint efforts to bolster financial and monetary stability and ensure the state's core obligations are met regularly, as detailed in the statement.
