Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi affirmed on Sunday that the Iraqi government is committed to improving the economic situation, consolidating weapons under state control, and strengthening security in the country. According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Aboudi received the Charg© d'Affaires of the European Union Delegation to Iraq, Adam Jansen, in the presence of the Head of the Advisory Mission in Iraq, Ralph Schroeder.

The statement from the advisor's media office indicated that the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and partnership between Iraq and the European Union at all levels, aligning with the country's best interests. Al-Aboudi highlighted Iraq's aspiration for the return of calm and peace to the region by building bridges of trust with all countries in the region and the world, aiming to promote sustainable development and serve the interests of all.

Al-Aboudi emphasized Iraq's commitment to maintaining balanced relations with its brotherly and friendly nations, which aligns with mutual interests. He reiterated the government's ongoing efforts to improve the economic situation, consolidate weapons under state control, and bolster national security.

Jansen, representing the European Union, expressed support for the Iraqi government in its ministerial program for security sector reform. He acknowledged the implementation of the National Security Strategy, which aims to achieve stability and security in collaboration with the EU Delegation to Iraq.
