Najaf Successfully Concludes Arba’een Pilgrimage Operations

Najaf: The Joint Committee for the Arba'een Pilgrimage in Najaf declared the successful completion of its operations to serve the pilgrims as the religious event came to a close. Najaf Governor Youssef Kanawi, in a press conference, highlighted the collaborative efforts that contributed to this achievement, mentioning the vital roles played by the people of Najaf, the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, the federal government, and various supporting ministries and departments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Haider Al-Issawi, a member of the Holy Shrine's board of directors, reported that over 17 million pilgrims journeyed from Najaf to Karbala for the Arba'een pilgrimage. This significant movement was marked by efficient logistical and organizational efforts.

A representative from the Fifth Border Region Command, responsible for overseeing the security of the pilgrimage, confirmed the success of the security measures and transportation of the pilgrims. These accomplishments were made possible through a coordinated approach involving various security ministries, the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali, the Hajj and Umrah Commission, the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the Prime Minister's Office.

In the press conference, Hussein Al-Issawi, head of the Najaf Provincial Council, announced that Wednesday would be recognized as an official holiday, marking the successful conclusion of the pilgrimage activities.
