Wasit: Wasit Governor Ali Salimoun has announced the suspension of official working hours for Wednesday, with the aim of easing traffic congestion and facilitating the return of pilgrims from the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) to their respective areas. This suspension excludes service and security departments, which will continue to operate as usual.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision to suspend working hours is primarily to ensure a smoother and safer journey for the pilgrims returning from the religious observance. The Arba'een pilgrimage, which attracts millions of visitors annually, often results in significant traffic congestion. The governorate is taking this step to manage the increased traffic flow and to support the movement of visitors within the region.

The move reflects the administration's commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring the well-being of both residents and visitors during this time. By exempting service and security departments from the suspension, the governorate aims to maintain essential services and public safety throughout the period of increased travel activity.
